Has anyone heard of a setup allowing for 100K between oil changes using an oil bypass and a new synthetic oil and fuel additive?

Even just the bypass would work, get it tested regularly tho

Depending on the Bypass you use you'll change or clean the filter at 5-10k at which time you should take a sample and send it in for analysis. They will give you a breakdown of this and tell you if you need to keep going, add additives or oil change time. Oil doesn't go bad it just gets filled with contaminates. As long as you are removing the contaminants there is no specific timeframe in which it must be changed..100k is easy, some have been tested to more than 500k. A bypass should be standard equipment on all vehicles..Saves money on oil changes and engine wear. Obviously the oil companys and engine manufacturer's don't like the idea of extending the life of your vehicle...:biggrin_25511:

when i worked at roadway they had the web system which basically dripped the motor oil at a controlled rate of a quart every 350 miles into the fuel tanks which continually replenished the additives in the oil and they never changed oil just the filters at 40,000 it was approved by detroit and cummins and they had alot of motors with over a million miles and saved them alot of maintenance labor and oil disposal costs

    Ok...how can I get a bypass?

I'm not too sure about your theory that oil and auto companies are "covering up" the bypass model. Perhaps it is cost prohibitive?

I think there is a guy who runs Amsoil who hasnt changed his oil in 800,000 miles on two different trucks. They tore down the engine and it didnt have any more wear than one that changed regularly. Been doing it since the early 90's if I recall correctly, not exactly new.

Look up oil bypass units, there are several, if you'd like specifics and personal studies PM me. Numerous threads about them. Do a forum search for gulf coast or spinner.

They a certainly not cost prohibitive. The most expensive unit on the market is around $600 full retail. Certainly if bought in bulk they could be had for half of that. Hense my conspiracy theory.:yes2557:

There are many bypass oil filter systems on the market and its pretty much to the point that what ever system fits your application the best is the one you should buy. My father has had great success with the Spinner II systems and this is what I am gonna install here shortly. This system has no extra filters that you have to carry with ya or change. Just a housing that you clean out around every 30,000 miles. Also this is the only system that will totally take out ALL the soot and contaminents. The other canistier systems just catch the soot and debri with it being still in the oil flow and if the paper element gets a whole...well everything is now going through the motor. Also with the Spinner II the oil goes through at the rate of 2 GPM. As a result I will only have to change my regular CAT oil filter around 50,000 miles.

As for oil...I recommend the best oil that you are willing to buy after doing proper research. I run Schaeffer's synthetic and have had great results with it. Amsoil is a good oil, just very pricey when compared to all the rest for pretty much the same oil. As with all of this a proper sampling program with a great testing lab is needed to ensure the proper results. But 100,000 miles is very conservative if the system and oil is choosen and setup correctly.

The reason I posted was becuase I found a testimonial on the hot shot secret site about this

    http://hotshotsecret.com/testimonials.html

the video on the right has a guy who has 100K plus using their system...which is comprised of a large industrial 1 micron filter, a full synthetic (not blend) oil called Blue Diamond, a fuel additive called Power Master to keep down the soot in the oil and regular oil analysis...all included.

I never heard of going that far before but he is doing it!
