I'm thinking about starting with US Xpress and have a few questions. My brother is also going to do trucking as well so teaming is an option.
1) What is the pay like? Cents per mile for solo? Cents per mile for team?
2) Do the trucks have APU's and allow inverters? Are they all automatics?
3) Do you really get to run all 48 states?
4) What do you like most about USXpress? What is your biggest complaint?

Thanks! It does help.

Does anyone know about pay? Website says there is a new pay structure for recent cdl grads but it does not give specifics.
-
They are bumping up the pay effective the 25th so Im not really sure what to tell you. I was told a 5 year guy will be getting a flat 42cpm, but Ill believe it when I see it. I can say this though I have a student from 2 months ago I talked to and he grossed 1500 this week. He is running team though.
-
Wow that is a good week. Do you make more money doing team than solo?
-
Teams and getting on a dedicated account are the way to go.
Check out the last page of my thread. It has the link to the new pay structure. -
Thanks! That grid was helpful. Looks like it is applicable to solo drivers? How about teams? Are they paid the same?
-
Teams almost always make better money. But there is a price to pay, crappy sleep and the truck barely stops.
-
OTR teams are paid 48 cpm but teams on dedicated accounts can make more or less. Depends on the account. I've heard that UPS dedicated pays 58 cpm.
BigBluePeter is right. I team with my wife so it isn't as bad. You need a good teammate to make it work.
You and your brother starting at the same time ?
