Same here. Most ads are U.S. Xpress. The funny thing is they all have different phone numbers to call and different driver experience requirements. Of course we get the same euro companies from chicago too which is weird since that's a bit of a drive.

No body ever said he people posting these ads are rocket scientist, nor the people that respond to them.

Different accounts are requiring levels of experience ETC. For instance I was going to do the Wal-Mart account but they don't allow training or less than 6 months experience on that account. others are more or less discriminating.

    Pseudo megas......
It's bull. I have to harp the weekenders and overnight dispatch to get moving. I've basically had to become a nuisance to get anything done. I'm all set with unplanned 34's because I'm dealing with incompetence.
I'll go 500+ daily, no prob, kill the clock.... Unless some dip behind a computer stalls me.

That's what my ire amounts to right now. :/

    Sorry guys. Zombie thread.

    Long story short:

Left my company, got a job somewhere else, had an accident within 90 days, was tossed out on my butt, old company came calling, rejected them for ANOTHER place, that place turns out was running trucks illegally, original place still kept calling, asked for a raise, got it, went back.

Been back about a year now, management has been diligent about shaking out the bad desk jockeys, unfortunately we had a lot of good drivers leave (including me, heh heh) and our replacements were,,, somewhat wanting.

So as much as the old drivers tried to stick the problems on management/dispatch, the newer drivers have proven to need more babysitting, which means the office needs a firmer hand.

If anything, my "seniority" at this company puts me much closer up the hierarchy than before. A lot of employees keep coming to me to solve issues, (like I have any control?) but about a month ago one of the VP's I was really tight with disappeared (quit? fired? arrested? Depends who you ask. The rumor mill spins,,,) so I'm kinda close to the top of the outfit now. I've made oblong remarks to the head of the company that he could do worse than putting me "inside" as opposed to hiring someone off the street, but I do like to drive. So maybe we'll see in a year.

    KillingTime Thanks this.

If you happen to live in the Reading area I still think you'd be better off working for Brenntag Northeast. Definitely hard to beat the benefits.
It's a union shop with union benefits.

They're a chemical distributor, so they move a lot of hazmat though.

I've been curious about them. Benefits are good to have, but what do the paychecks look like?

And I believe that hazmat is a requirement?

Can't be any worse than anywhere else and the benefits would probably amount to the equivalent of an extra paycheck every month
