Not unless the truck your driving has an old NT or NH Cummins(or older),which had the manual/electrical fuel solenoid,or an engine with a mechanical cable shutoff like an old 2 stroke Detroit.
This prostar is driving me insane.

I drive an 8600 every nite....they are true POS
-
Next time I get into a terminal I'll have the shop look at it. I bet they tell me it's normal, and there is no issue
-
Call Breakdown. They'll route you to a TA/Petro or a International dealership.
-
Call outside repair tell them the heater or a\c doesn't work and idle. Better to lose few dollars than be tired from no sleep and try to drive.
-
Suppose I should mention that if you have got a newer one with the auto idle shut off 2 options for this. Set trailer brakes only and you can idle w\o it shutting down. Or set brakes as normal and turn on cruise control switch in on position, set shift selctor for high gear, then use the push set cruise and it will "fast\high idle" at around 1k rpm all night.
