What happened was, the old alternator had died, So I put in a new one. The new one was giving out a high voltage (15.0), which fried the back break lights. I then replaced both the alternator and the lights. The alternator this time gave out correct voltage, but the the code was still there. I tried deleting it, but after rechecking it, it is still there.

sometimes BTS ore resistor inside unit are damaged. and dealer usually replace LCM. I did repare. Sometimes MOSFET swap does not help. So I do reprogramming bulb failure monitoring current with VTT.

I had regular tail lights, and replaced it with LED lights. But after I had problems with alternator and stuff, I changed it back to regular lights. Would changing it with LED mess up the LCM?
If so would it be possible to reprogram it (insite 7.4) using inline 5? -
No, Insite lets to reprogram Engine ECM only. You need PTT ore VCADs but with development tool to reprogram LCM. And it is not so easy. Some dealers know how to do it. Tommorow I can look at my laptop and I will post you numbers of operations, it will help your Volvo dealer.

Which one would be better for it? PPT or VCADS?
Also would i be able to use inline or do I have to get a different adapter for it. -
PTT, but with dev2tool. Else it is just a toy to read and clear fault codes.
Volvo does not sell this software for dealers. Dealers use VTT - somplified version of PTT. To program units VTT downloads ECM software from Volvo Server NA ore for EU from server in Gentdkig2001 Thanks this. -
Would an inline adapter be able to function using VCADS?
-
All body coding has to be done with VCADS I should add that Pablo has better access to software being europe than we do on for european trucks over here.... -
Any RP1210A adapter works fine with VCADs, but if you use old com-port adapter like Cummins Inline-II you may have conflicts related with software for before '98 Volvo trucks, becouse they used stock Volvo adapter bu default and this adapter use com-1 port.
Any usb adapter like Inline-5, Nexiq, cat works well
As a dealer I have no dev. access. I got it the other way))) LOL
