My buddy has the 880 with the sink configuration. You have to give up the top drawers but you can still have the fridge. There are 2 storage tanks for water, 1 potable cannister which is 2 1/2 gallons and 1 discharge tank which I believe is the same located in the drivers storage compartment. The drawback is that they're not heated so consequently are subject to freezing, but other than that he says it's pretty effective for what he needs. I would get the inverter-charger/shorepower. I have that and it's pretty slick, charges your batteries when plugged in plus runs everything on 110V AC. When not, runs like a usual inverter set up. It's 1800 watt so will run pretty much everything. As far as the skylight I'm sure if you order the truck it can be omitted. I haven't had any issues with IT leaking, but the upper left bunk window I've had 3.

Update: After Cummins screwed and up and defaulted on the DPF issue, I used an emissions only company to do the job. The Hug filter passive "after burner" filter was recommended for my needs, and the work was completed for $15,000-. Unfortunately, after 6 months, I began having back pressure issues, something that wasn't supposed to happen for two years. I found myself in Wyoming at a tire shop blowing off carbon to save the filter, and presumably the engine, although I never found any clear engine performance problems, other than a possible drop in fuel economy. After I returned to California, the emissions company did a free servicing--an inspection of the alarm codes, and more complete filter cleaning. However, on the next trip east, I ran into more pressure alarm codes, just two days of driving after being giving a clean go ahead. Then, mother nature took over with a dust storm that involved over a dozen trucks and cars on lonely stretch of US54 in OK. The truck repair bill at Volvo in Amarillo would be $31,000-, so I decided immediately to ditch the truck. In one day, I managed to find what I was looking for--another VNL 780 model year 2015. I also ditched Cummins/Eaton 13speed for the fully engineered drive train of the Volvo and automatic transmission. We had some dealer and financial problems like most everyone experiences, but generally speaking I'm glad to have the new truck.

I got the double spring with shocks, no bag on this 2015 model, and it seems to ride same as my 2006 that had the airbags. Road debris damaged plastic and rubber on airbags twice, so I figured maybe I'll do OK with the full leaf spring only. Do I need to replace the shocks often in the front to protect the tires?

Keep in mind that after warranty is done on the engine, a Cummins engine can be worked on by most mechanics while there are very few mechanics outside of Volvo dealers who can!

I own a 2004 Volvo 780, great truck, ride and comfort! I have 3:58 gears in mine with a 10 speed. I would probably go with something around 3:45-3:50 for my gearing if I was ordering new. I would also order the truck with a 13 speed manual transmission.

I also have a webesto heater that will run you out of the truck in the winter! If I was ordering new I would opt for one that has better temperature control though!

As far as a refrigerator goes.....We bought a apartment size fridge from Lowes with it's own freezer door and fridge door. It fits into the space normally used for built in units perfectly! I plug it into my inverter and it works well! They cost around $200 but that is cheap compared to the added cost of a built in unit. I bought the truck in 2008 and have only put 2 fridges in the truck, which is not bad in my opinion considering the abuse it takes from rough roads!

I would also order the truck to have optional shore power hookup! This is a nice feature as you can plug your fridge into it when sitting at home or over a weekend somewhere.
