Volvo d12 air leak sound from egr

    Hi guys I have a Volvo d12 and sometimes you hear a really loud air sound from around the egr area,kinna like when you hit the gas on a truck that's got a cac leaking bad,as soon as you touch the pedal it stops.anyone ever experience anything like this thanks

    Sounds like the egr may not be closing all the way

    Just replace it,there's no codes coming up and there both new

    And also does it cause any damage if you run it like that

    if you hear air leak it might be broken air cable "pipe" between EPG and its control valve!

    but only when it engages EGRS and EPG ,, when clutch or gas pedal pressed it stops!!

    no damage to engine at all just no FIRST level of engine brake and EPG wouldnt close for EGRs to cycle so its even better for engine as well lol

    EPG is engine pressure governor so u know

    I meant: EGRs would still close( its not about EGRS) just EPG wouldnt close and fumes wouldnt go back that much to the engine.. :)

    Had the same problem on D12 .. there are two sections to air cable: one is soft and the other one is regular metal pipe.. "cable" goes around back part of the engine on the head level

    Thank you man I really appreciate the reply,your in Brooklyn,I'm in Staten Island,you have any ideas on how not to deal with these dam ergs lol,the wierd thing is it doesn't do it all the time,and also 1 question,on most d12 I see two cables connected to the top of the intake manifold mine don't have any what are they for
