Get under the hood and look an feel around boots on intake, look for small holes or rub marks on rubber under steel wires that cover them.

depending on the year, and how many miles you have on it, it could be time for a new turbo. But check hoses, clamps and fittings 1st.

Once you check your boots for holes, if they are ok, might take the rear boot loose from the turbo and look in it to see if its wet or if there are any metal shavings in it and check to see if the fan inside is loose. If so, its your turbo. Usually it will smoke pretty bad if its the turbo? Might also check your fuel injector lines for leaks or it could also be an injector gone bad?

Does it by chance sound like this? The truck I drive has similar symptoms to yours.
