I've had my 2012 Volvo 670 for about a year now, no issues with 305,000 miles. Until this afternoon I have noticed that my sleeper lights and fridge stopped working, later this evening, as it got dark, I flipped on the dome lights via the switch and the sleeper lights and fridge came back on. I was messing with the control panel in the sleeper last night trying to remember how to turn on the bunk heater, and I'm thinking I messed with a setting. Any one have an idea?

The ISX problems we see are usually sensor and the hydrocarbon doser. I have seen a lot of cam failures, both injector and valve. The lift pump on the ISX is crap. We also see the after treatment issues like plugged dpf's, a lot of them have regen issues. Parts for the Cummins engines are expensive.
As for the D13 I see injector sealing issues, usually with injectors that have been replaced. The typical regen issues with the aftertreatment from temp sensors to NOX sensors. Face plugged dpf's usually from drivers skipping regens or a flex pipe failure occasionally a failure farther upstream. The AHI module or an egr cooler with an internal leak. The turbo failures are typically the sector gear seizing or the vgt actuator. A lot of drivers complain about power loss but they are typically boost leaks or usually minor. I have been in this industry since 1985. I have both owned trucks and worked in a dealership. I would compare the D13 to the series 60 Detroit for reliability and durability. In late 2013 Volvo began to use OBD for diagnostic and in 2014 the emissions level changed. I would trend more towards the 2013 than the 12. A lot of the kinks were gone by then from the 2010 emissions mandate. As for interior and creature comforts we usually don't mess with them due to our work load as driveability concerns are most important. I can ship a truck so they can get back moving and making money rather than tear apart a truck to replace items that are inconsequential to a truck operating. I know the driver considers them important but if I did that then I have a bay tied up with a job that doesn't impact the trucks main function while I have trucks waiting on engine repairs. There are a few large dealers that keep interior parts in stock but most dealerships would rather keep a truck rolling than down one for a refrigerator. We can order one and usually get it in a day or two just depends on how long you want to sit.

    ^ he's good.

My main issue with the d13s has been flex pipe and then the rest of the dpf system. Until I startd drilling holes in the filters. Lol

Would bad filters cause loss of power? I know it's probably a dumb question, but the power issues are fairly bad for example, have to climb a 5% grade in 8th gear on a ten speed with only 30,000lbs on the trailer. Used to be able to fly up them #####es when next to maxed out.

I'm formerly an IT specialist working with computers and such, im not exactly mechanically inclined. Another example my trailer lights went out all except for the turn signals and break lights... Here I am swapping out pig tails and 7way sockets. And it didn't dawn on me to check the fuse until about an hour and a half into it. In the IT field the most common computer or network issues are bad cables...
