    Hello,

New to the forum. Just went to work for a company who assigned me a 2001 Volvo VN condo. I've driven these trucks before, and really like them, but I've never run into this problem before. Front heat works fine, but the heat in the sleeper only blows cold air. Is there a shutoff valve for the sleeper heat? Or what might I look for? Thankfully it has an inverter, so I've been using an electric blanket at night which works great. Rather have the heat working though!

    Thanks much,

There more than likely is a shuft off valve that is closed. Go to the right side of the engine, look for the (around 1" in diameter) rubber hoses that come out of the engine.
If you follow them, there should be 2 that look like they go to the firewall, and 2 that go back under the cab, and those will be the ones to the sleeper heater. If you do this with the engine warm, and your front heater blowing hot air, feel the hoses. The ones that feel good and warm to the touch are circulating hot coolant. If the 2 going to the sleeper feel cool or cold, look for shut off valves on those 2 lines. Open them if they are closed. If they are open, you could have an issue with the unit that controls heat on the sleeper circuit, and that's a deeper problem, but start with this first. (Note, there might be one valve, or there could be two, one on the feed and one on the return, look closely to be sure).

Thanks a bunch for the reply. I figured it was something like a shut-off valve somewhere, but wasn't sure. Supposed to be fairly warm tomorrow, so I'll get out there and do some checking on it. I appreciate the help!

Turns out that a valve is stuck closed that needs to be replaced. Shop ordered one. Electric blanket works great in the mean-time!
