You're right,That is not an 06 volvo switch, Mine is much simpler and has 2 holes already in the housing.I suspect the lock cylinder is held in with a spring clip. I have changed lock cylinders in other vehicles and the key had to be inserted and rotated to a specific position to allow release. I don't want to damage the lock cylinder trying to remove it in the wrong way. Most of these things are ez if you know the technique for removal,If you dont, You break it.

Figured it out. Remove the ignition switch from it's mount plate.Unplug the wiring.Holding the switch in your hand, insert the key, turn the key to accessory position.look into the hole in the body of the lock cylinder recess. The hole in the smooth rounded side of the body not the one in the flat.Push in on the key and look for the copper colored spring plate sticking up, Push this plate down with a small punch and pull lock cylinder from the switch. Line up the pins on the bottom of the lock cylinder with the recesses in the switch and push the lock cylinder in. Should lock into the new switch easily.Hook up wiring,Reinstall in mount plate and done. Thanx for your help.
