Ya I'm starting to understand the FIRM part only applies to the driver. Though not always then either..

I had a 9am FIRM delivery at the MIssoulian one day, I got there at 8:30 but then took 1.5hrs trying to back in. (Try not to let me see you laughing at that.) They didn't seem to care that I was an hour "late".. In after thought, that's probably because they were enjoying the show.

Sitting in Coburg Or, has been quite the @#$%!^!&%@$# week some good but certainly some not so good. Arrived in Portland last Thursday am to deliver that night @12am, contacted dispatch to see about a pre-planned next load and was told no way there where no loads in the area but was working on it :( so made delivery to Fred Myer @12am and almost ended up jacking the jaw of the dock foreman, the guy chewed me out for a good 10 min for not having 2 copies of the BOL, i told him the shipper only gave 1 copy so that was all I had, that is when he said that only a stupid F@@%#$#n truck driver would try to use a dumb excuse like that. This is where he almost got his jaw jacked, but... I restrained myself and just smiled as sweat began rolling down my face, SOME PEOPLE! 4hrs later I am sitting at a TA in Troutdale Or reading TTF when I see that chralb is in Portland also so I give him a call later in the day and he says he was coming over if he did not get a load. Friday afternoon I get a QC load assignment that is not until Sunday morning :( long wait, 4th reset in 2 weeks. chralb comes over on Satuday and we are hanging out and sharing stories, talking about matters of faith when we discover that we are loading at the same place and time and are delivering to the same place so we decided we would run together and hang out for a few days, this is where it gets all twisted up :)... we get up early Sunday to get ready and get loded early to make our run that day an easy one, but that is not the way things went at all, I looked in my trailer to see if it needed to be swept out only to find it was raining in side the trailer, so we head over to Vancouver to the terminal there to swap out the trailer and where no empties ARRRGH! chralb decides he should check his trailer as well and finds it was damaged by a previous driver and not reported so it is leaking also, well the only place to get a trailer repaired at 6am on Sunday is the TA back in Troutdale Or so off we go, several hrs later trlrs repaired t-cks made out and off we go. We are about 3miles from where we get off the 5 in Longview Wa and head out to the paper mill to get our load when it occurs to me we should check the trlrs before we show up at the shipper so I get chralb on the radio and we stop at the exit to check the trlrs and the stupid things still leak!!!!! what now? We are about 115 mi from the Lakewood terminal and if we hurry and things go perfect we can get back in time to still get our loads, we had a window of 07:00 to 17:30 but it would be close. So off to Lakewwod we and we get there and head for the drop yard only to find the the trkrs there where either full of tires or they had gladhand locks on them Wh????t so over the terminal we go and find two trlrs backed against the docks that are empty and no leaks WHEW WHOOO! sorta! I bump an empty dock with my trlr and red tag it and chralb does the same and we are getting ready to go with the new trlrs, pre-trp the trlrs sweep them out and close the doors only to find a broken hinge and a door seal hanging on chralb's trlr " ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" well we are in this to far to quit now and start looking for bolts to repair the hinge and manage to get it fixed and the seal back on WHEW! but now we are running out of time so off we go back to Longview to get our loads, (you seen 2 guys work so hard and drive so far just to get loaded) :0. So we make it to the shipper and even had about an hour to spare WOW! but it does not end here, we are loaded and headed for SFS area to make our delivries when we get just south of Portland and and chralb gets me on the radio and says my lights just went out, NO WAY! so we head for the next truck stop which is another TA and they fix the lights on my trlr in about 1 1/2 hrs and we are on the road again making about 100 miles from Portland and stop for the night at a RA, getting up early and heading out on Monday we stop at the nearest truck stop another TA in Coburg Or and get coffee and a few things for the road and head south on the 5 and no sooner do we get on the road and I blow a rear end.... o here i sit in Coberg with a new rear end, no trlr and am told there once again are no loads...

BTW Chris, I am glad you made it to LA with no problems, lets do it again sometime but lets do it different just the same.....

BNR you seemed such a mello kind guy, don't let the small stuff get to you, and then remember it is all small stuff, I hate these super truckers who thinks if they can get on the radip and blab they may be a le to start the 3rd world war over some crap they say on thd squack box, and then the guys with the big powered radios with the echo chambers and beeps on the end those guys are mostly the one who don't think thwir stuff stinks. I'll get off my soap box and get back in the corner where dispatch put me:yes2557::biggrin_25514::biggrin_2559:

I bot up and drove to my fial destination this morning, my GPS took me right in ghere, a few slippery roads but nothing we can't handle, so I get there about 7:30 and I see cars in the lot, I walk up to the building to where I thought people would be, I call out no answer, so I go back to the truck and as I'm walking back to the truck I get on some black ice and take a spill, I scratched my hand where a caught my fall and my elbow took about 15 layers of skin off, I smacked my hip as I came down anc it is bruised a bit but I will be fine, all my mobility is functional so I don't think there is any need for medical attention, so I start backing into there dock and the truck starts to slip a bit so I get tne chains oug and lay them down and get it moving a little, so after about 2 hours of that I get in the dock and the offic@e people have showwd up, and I take the paperwork in and then go back out and wait, walking on the ice a bit more gingerly then before, the office gal comes out and says they need it back downtown. At another location, I said why didn't they tell me that when I got here? So I take it down there and they off load me, so now I'm out of hours, I only had 6.75 I drove for 4.25 and was supposed to go to Baltimore and grab a load, so I sent in a QC stating my situation and they said call the broker, so I call the broker and they tell me rudely to check with my dispatch, so I do that and they send back a cancelled notice on the run out of Baltimore and "Further instruction will follw" not sure when but I'm waiting to see where I go.
