I started with WE arrived at hotel 2/1/15 orientation started 2/2/15 - 2/4/15.... met my trainer 2/6/15 he is an easy going cool guy. No problems there. We take a load of empty beer kegs to Eden, N.C. Picked up a load of beer 2/7/15 at same place and run back up to Mass. My first time driving T/T in the real world Rt29 through Va. was nerve racking but fun. I got us up to NJ then he took over for the remainder of the trip to Mass. We raced to beat a snow storm and got there 2/8/15 at 11am only to find out that the distribution ctr didn't open till 7pm.. arrrgh Since I live in that area I made a phone call and a friend picked us up and we went to eat and get out the truck for a few hours as the snow started falling hard. Finally get out of there by 10pm. My trainer gets us to a truck stop on 95 s in Ct. Then on to Staten Island NY to pick up some paper. We got there about 4am 2/9/15 but didn't get called to load up till 9:30 am.. We make another stop in NJ Finally get out of there about 11am and somewhere along the way while driving get a rock that cracked the winshield. DM sends us to Nazareth terminal to get it fixed. We have been sitting here since 1pm ,2/9/15 ...
Overall so far WE isn't as bad as some posters make it out to be. But as a newbie driver wtf do I know...lol... sitting to get a windshield replace is a bit much though...actually rediculous... but again wtf do I know. I just think that although there are much better companies to work for you just have to man up and deal with the challenges that are in front of you. Pissi.g, moaning and groaning about your situation will accomplish nothing.... #### I haven't driven in over 36 hrs. Can't wait to get back behind the wheel again...Indiana here we come.....one of these days....lollll -
I'm happy to know there are drivers out here with my same mindset. Everyday ain't gonna be good but I always take a bad day say...it could be worse. Keep trucking man. I'm happy for ya.

Well I am stuck outside Chicago Il. I have been here since 2/12/15. Our truck broke down broken U joint on the drive shaft. I am a week into road training and only have about 1,000 miles behind the wheel. They gave my trainer a ticket back home and put me up in a fleabag welfare motel waiting to be picked up by a trainer on his way through the area. Not the worst place to be stuck. But I didn't take this job to be a tourist. So far my WE experience isn't exactly what I had in mind. I don't .mind dealing with adversity. I am just ready to get back behind the wheel get my 6-12 months and move on.
One thing that is dissapointing is they say there is 95% drop and hook. So far of the 4 loads I have been under it has been 0% drop and hook. One stop we did we arrived at 8:30pm for a 9pm appointment. They didn't start to load us until 1am.. Overall my WE experience is very frustrating. Quitting or failure is not an option. FORWARD!!! -
If you had isssues in your past then WE is one of a few companies you can hook up with as a newbie driver. Otherwise if you are squeaky clean and have choices. Do not make WE one of them.
superpet39 and zoekatya Thank this. -
It is what it is. Sign up with Western with your eyes open.
Bricktop Thanks this. -
I've been waiting three full days at their Nazareth yard to get one electricAL outlet fixed. Get your experience and get out. Low pay expect $450-550 take home for north east regional. Expect to wait on the phone for breakdown for 45 minutes average.
