I can see it from both sides. They are there to put butts in the seats. The "drivers" are inquiring about them and not doing due diligence or have screwed their careers so badly that they have no choice. Remember the line "A sucker is born every day"? Unfortunately it's not mentioned enough in trucking.
I am a former Western Express Recruiter for anyone who has questions

I'm curious why you're on the Western Express message board at all... Either way, this post was not intended to let people take out all of their frustrations on recruiters or their own careers, it was to inform people on the company.
Veryblessed Thanks this. -
No problem Joseph. Like I said, I am definitely not here to encourage people to go to Western Express. I would like them to know the truth regardless of whether it is good or bad.

'but I do believe that a recruit will NOT get the whole story from a recruiter"
So just curious what are your intentions now then? Like my first post why don't you just give out the info that
potential new hires should have going forward. IMO wouldn't we all be better off as a whole if companies
like this didn't exist? Nothing wrong with giving someone a second chance but just blindsiding people
and letting them lets say walk in front of traffic and not stopping them by saying "Hey look out you might
get run over". I like that your willing to offer advice but do we need to ask the right questions
from you to get it out there? -
I couldn't agree more and wish I could provide you more info on why a "for profit company" would aim for the bottom rung of drivers. Obviously someone is making money or they wouldn't be in business but I just don't understand it...

Were you paid commissions to lie to drivers or a flat hourly rate and did you get bonuses for bringing people in???

I think I understand what you are looking for, but unfortunately, I don't have ALL information that a driver would need. For one, I have been gone for a few months now so I would be unable to give specific answers to their current processes. What I CAN do is provide some insight to the type of company and the type of people that they are working with and for the most part answer basic questions about the company.

Crappiejunkie. Why do you feel the need to be insulting? People like you are precisely why I left the industry. What you are doing is being a troll and I am not going to respond to that.
Veryblessed Thanks this. -
I've got an idea for you. You can save some headaches here. Knowing that WE's hiring criteria is pretty low, you can tell about what's accepted and what's not. You know, felonies, drugs, past employment. Then pay range, benefits and hiring areas. You're the guy/girl in the know, and what a forum you have to explain it on
