A blast at a Corona, California trucking company claimed the life of a 50-year-old worker and has put a second man in critical condition. Workers at the National Distribution Services garage were welding a tanker truck when an explosion occurred that tore a hole in the roof of the building.
Even after the building had been evacuated, hazmat crews were called to the scene since the NDS building is in a residential area, but no nearby homes were evacuated. Though between six to ten other employees were working on or near the truck at the time of the explosion, no one else was injured.
It is currently unknown what caused the explosion, and an OSHA investigation that has been launched may not have any more information for up to six months.

They broke the golden rule of welding containment vessels, make sure its empty of all residue and vapors, and vented. Sorry to hear about the loss though, rip.
