Washington – Today, the American Trucking Association became a “First Mover.” It partnered with the U.S. Department of Transportation and other transportation industry members to take action under the National Roadway Safety Strategy.
Dan Horvath, Vice President of Safety Policy at ATA, declared they are dedicated to achieving zero highway deaths. By joining forces on the National Roadway Safety Strategy, they are collaborating to tackle road safety issues and strive towards having no fatalities.
The US Department of Transportation’s National Roadway Safety Strategy outlines its comprehensive plan to reduce the number of traffic fatalities and serious injuries. As part of their initiative, they have released an NRSS Call to Action, requesting people to commit to ensuring highway safety.
Horvath expressed his pride in ATA for being one of the first groups to respond to the DOT’s request for help. The Share the Road program, Law Enforcement Advisory Board, and ongoing work zone safety campaign have all been launched to teach humans how to safely share the roads with large vehicles, how to stay safe in construction zones, and how to strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the trucking industry to maintain highway safety.
