Candor Expedite founder and CEO Nicole Glenn recently received the Annual Distinguished Women in Logistics award by The Women in Trucking Association.
The non-profit women’s advocacy and professional support organization was founded in 2007, and other industry stakeholders threw their support behind the eighth annual award. Along with the Women in Trucking Association (WIT), Truckstop.com, and Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) backed Candor Expedite’s nomination.
“Nicole is truly a distinguished woman in logistics, and we are proud to recognize her for this honor,” WIT president and CEO Ellen Voie reportedly said. “She has demonstrated remarkable business growth at the helm of Candor Expedite, and we look forward to her continued success in the coming years.”
After putting in more than 20 years in the transportation and brokerage sector, Glenn formed Candor Expedite in 2017. Her business model revolves around providing manufacturers with effective solutions to deliver time-sensitive goods and materials. That vision has elevated Candor Expedite from a startup five years ago to a leading certified women-owned business with headquarters in Texas, as well as offices in Illinois and Kansas.
“This award is more than a trophy. It’s a commitment,” Glenn reportedly said. “It is hopefully inspiring other people to potentially become a truck driver, or a woman to ask for that next promotion, or an innovator to come up with the next disruptor that changes the way we do business tomorrow.”
Glenn reportedly entered the sales side of the freight hauling sector in 2008, earning her way to become the president of K & L Freight Management. And in 2016, she was in charge of Cherry Logistics Corporation. Although accomplished, she decided to leverage her professional network and build a team of her own. Today, Candor Expedite possesses a leading reputation for hot shot trucking, time-sensitive hauls, and white glove delivery services.
“TIA was again impressed with the caliber of candidates for the Distinguished Women in Logistics Award. The four finalists reflect the best attributes of the 3PL professional: competence, pragmatism, and commitment to serving customers in the right way,” Anne Reinke, president and CEO of TIA, reportedly said. “Nicole Glenn has all of those attributes, plus a history of persevering and succeeding through adversity. We are fortunate to have these women in the logistics profession.”
The award winner is also a certified member of The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, The Expedite Association of North America, WIT, and TIA, among others. Although her driven success raises eyebrows, she humbly credited her Candor Expedite team for the company’s success.
Glenn also earned awards such as Top Women-Owned Businesses, 2021 Enterprising Women of the Year Champion, and is one of the founders of The Ladies Leadership Coalition, a female business podcast designed to profile successful businesswomen.
