Joni Casey, the long-serving president and CEO of the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA), has announced her retirement effective at the end of 2024, concluding a distinguished 27-year tenure.
The IANA board of directors has initiated a search for Casey’s successor to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of the organization’s mission. Casey expressed her gratitude and pride in an email statement, highlighting her contributions to the intermodal industry and the support from IANA’s board and staff.
Remarkable Achievements
Under Casey’s leadership, IANA has seen significant growth and development. Membership has expanded from several hundred companies to over 1,000. Casey has been instrumental in launching and expanding industry technology initiatives through IANA’s Intermodal Information Services. She also championed a scholarship program that has awarded over $5.3 million to foster new talent in freight and intermodal transportation.
Career Highlights
Before joining IANA, Casey served as executive director of the American Trucking Associations’ Intermodal Council and president and CEO of the Transportation Intermediaries Association. Her extensive experience and leadership have been pivotal in shaping IANA into a forward-thinking organization.
