Truckers can anticipate increased opportunities as ContainerPort Group launches a motor carrier expansion by integrating Bristol Transportation into its network.
The recently launched Bristol Transportation drayage outfit operates out of Charleston, SC, Chicago, IL, and Savannah, GA. Building out the ContainerPort Group network is expected to strengthen its national trucking footprint by augmenting capacity in these and other major markets that are experiencing record-breaking import volumes.
“Expanding the CPG network with the opening of Bristol Transportation in these strategic locations will help us cater to the shift we are seeing in diverting cargo away from the West Coast and pushing volumes up in the East and Gulf coasts,” ContainerPort Group President Joey Palmer reportedly said. “Investing in solutions that address the supply chain challenges that our customers are facing demonstrates our tireless commitment to ensuring we are bringing solutions to the table that meet the goals of our customers and owner-operators alike.”
Adding Bristol Transportation to ContainerPort Group’s growing truck transportation system will likely create new and more lucrative freight hauling opportunities for CDL professionals. Bristol Transportation reportedly offers highly competitive compensation and logistical support for owner-operators. The organization reportedly values long-term business relationships and deploys technological tools such as DrayPal. The expansion across major markets comes at a time when California owner-operators and independent truckers struggle with the newly-applicable AB5 law that effectively bans self-employed truck driving.
“We do things differently at Bristol Transportation; it’s not your typical drayage company. We provide our drivers with the best compensation package on the market and 24/7 access to a wide range of support services that go far beyond what is offered by your typical trucking company,” Bristol Transportation regional director Zach Hadden reportedly said. “This strong support is what keeps our drivers engaged and ultimately results in better on-time delivery rates and top-notch customer service.”
With ContainerPort Group’s support, Bristol Transportation officials expect to meet increased freight demands at some of the country’s busiest hubs. The upgrades reportedly involve secure yards for pre-pulls, access to advanced chassis, improved technology, and more OTR trucking runs.
“With Bristol Transportation on board, CPG demonstrates our continuous commitment to serving market demand by growing our network — ensuring cargo travels quickly to, from, and within these critical markets,” Palmer reportedly said.
Bristol Transportation reportedly set the goal of opening a new facility each quarter going forward. Since October 2021, the organization grew from three trucks based in Charleston to 40 rigs across three markets.
