Autonomous technology developer Gatik is partnering with Kroger to launch a delivery program via automated, refrigerated 20-foot box trucks in the Dallas area. The program will operate seven days per week and make multiple deliveries runs daily, beginning in the second quarter of this year. Since its 2019 launch, Gatik has delivered 500,000 customer orders in Texas, Arkansas, and Ontario via its Classes 3-6 trucks.
Gautam Narang, the Gatik co-founder, and CEO said: “Kroger’s commitment to redefining service levels through innovative technology-enabled our collaboration to come together quickly. We’re thrilled to bring our experience to support Kroger’s mission to reshape goods delivery.”
Raúl Bujalil, Kroger’s VP of supply chain strategy and technology enablers, added: “We’re excited to see Gatik trucks delivering groceries in our Dallas division. These autonomous box trucks will help us continue our commitment to creating a seamless shopping experience with zero compromises on value or convenience.”
Gatik was founded in 2017, with operations in Mountain View, Calif., and Toronto. It serves Walmart and Loblaw. Kroger, a Transport Topics Top 100 list member, is another customer.
