At Geotab Connect 2023, Geotab unveiled a new integration for select devices/Cummins engines and a tool to help fleets manage costs/supply chain pressures.
Geotab and Cummins announced an upcoming integration and Geotab’s Data Connector tool at Connect 2023 in Orlando, FL. The integration will enable OTA updates for Cummins engine control units through Geotab’s GO9 device, and Data Connector is designed to help fleets address rising operating costs.
OTA Connected Software Updates (CSU) provide access to the latest Cummins software, ensuring peak performance. CSUs update engine software in less than 5 minutes, eliminating the need for calibration updates at service locations and maximizing uptime. (Geotab noted in a press release).
OTA engine software updates use a two-step approval process for safe and secure installation, Geotab and Cummins announced. The integration, available for select Geotab devices and compatible Cummins engines, can save fleets time and money, according to Geotab’s VP of enterprise solutions, Scott Sutarik. “Connected Software Updates ensure [our customers] are taking advantage of the latest genuine Cummins firmware, ensuring peak performance and innovation,” he added.
Geotab’s integration with Cummins will soon be available for select Geotab devices and compatible Cummins engines, with additional availability later this year.
Geotab’s Data Connector integrated intelligence tool leverages 22 years of experience in handling fleet customer needs, curating specific data sets, and making them accessible through a “no-code” integration with preferred business intelligence tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Excel). It also includes report templates to translate data into insights and develop custom reporting dashboards, enabling integration with data from other sources (e.g., maintenance and accounting systems).
“Collaboration with our fleet customers uncovered an opportunity to bridge a gap that brings insights from connected vehicle data into popular BI platforms,” said Mike Branch, VP of data and analytics at Geotab. “Data Connector will prevent data siloing, breed more trust, and allow the right stakeholders to access the data in a familiar BI platform.” The company added that Data Connector could also be a resource for enterprise-level fleets with established data management programs and resources.
