Hurricane Delta has been upgraded to a Category 2 storm and is expected to make landfall on the Gulf Coast by Friday evening.
Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi all lie in the expected path of the hurricane, though Louisiana is likely to bear the brunt of the impact. Winds have already built to sustained speeds of 105 mph.
Recent satellite imaging indicates that the storm appears to be increasing in strength.
Storm surge warnings are already in effect from High Island, Texas, to Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
The storm is expected to continue making its way Northeast before slowing down and dying out Sunday evening. You can see its expected trajectory on weather.com here.
Stay safe, drivers!
