Pennsylvania State Police issued 801 citations and put 20 drivers out of service during a five-day commercial vehicle enforcement blitz.
Twenty-one trucks were also placed out of service during the Nov. 21-25 Commercial Motor Vehicle T.E.A.M. effort, or Traffic Enforcement and MCSAP (Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program).
Commissioner Frank Pawlowski said poor driving behaviors, like changing lanes unsafely, following too closely and speeding, are factors in many truck-related crashes. During the blitz, trucks were stopped for violations of the Vehicle Code, then inspected by state troopers, he said.
