A Georgia family had an extra merry Christmas this year thanks to a trucker who found a furry stowaway riding underneath his truck more than 2,000 miles away from home.
An OTR Pepsi driver discovered the 5-year-old tabby, named Kitty Bitty, underneath his truck in Riverside County, California. When he was found, Kitty Bitty was dehydrated, dirty, and skinny. The driver called Animal Services, and authorities were able to quickly nurse him back to health. Using his rabies vaccine tag, Animal Services was able to identify the cat and contact his owners.
According to Riverside County Department of Animal Services spokesperson John Welsh, it is thought that the cat probably ended up in or underneath the truck at a Pepsi facility not far from where his owner lives.
It is unclear how long the cat has been riding around on the truck, but he’s been missing from his home since the Fourth of July.
“We figured he got afraid of all the fireworks and the noise,” said Teresa Cameron, Kitty Bitty’s owner, in an interview with ABC News. “We just were afraid he’d got out and was gone.”
“It’s unbelievable to me,” said Cameron. “I mean, I know cats go off and come back, but Savannah to California?”

That’s one lucky cat
What’s the old saying that a cat has 9 lives, well here goes #2. GOOD LUCK LITTLE KITTY!
They could start a new trucker series on discovery “Tabby Tails” LOL 🤣
I had somewhat of the same experience. I spent the weekend at a truck stop outside of Dallas and found 2 kittens under a tarp on the back of a flat bed that came out of South Carolina. Took both home with me.
Check your truck much?
Yeah because a driver wants to get under the truck frequently.
cat under hood?
It’s amazing that truck hadn’t gone through a DOT Inspection since at least the 4th of July, some drivers are just plain lucky…It’s a great Cat story, but it still appears fabricated and surely not all the details have been exposed.
If you work for reputable people you never get DOT’d been driving 15 years inspected twice.
Very true. Once in 5 years for me.
like who? how many trucks does your reputable people got?Cause I might want a job if they,re as good as you say
I don’t believe a word you are saying.
Well thats not ” never ” , is it.
The word your looking for is
” hardly “.
Sounds like Caterpillar is trying to get back in the market.
VERY FUNNY!!))) “CAT” SHOULD GET BACK INTO TRACTOR’S OR SEMI’S
cat is better than a 600 6nz…
must not be doing pre or post trip inspections vary well.guess that cat used about 6 of his 9lives.
Cool
That cat has over 2000 lives!!!
cat probably needs an in-frame now…
maybe an out of frame…..
How is it possible that the cat was not spotted before 2000 miles if the driver had been doing his required pre trip inspection. He would have to seen the cat before then
“ we were afraid he got scared of the fireworks “ but didn’t take responsibility of putting him in the house when we KNEW they were coming!! Idiots!!!
Lol, exactly.
Wow just wow
That’s truly amazing. I’ve lost cats before and never seen them again.
Someone did there pre an post trips……..
Glad he is home. 🐈🐈
You mean someone FINALLY did their pretrip.
Interesting.
A human can only go without water a couple weeks before dying of thirst, how could a cat survive for months under a truck? Unless this happened months ago, and the story is just now being told here.
Why is a Pepsi truck going from Georgia to California?
Yea : I didn’t figure Pepsi was legal in California
Pepsi is legal as long as you pay the tax on the bottle.
or New York.
There is no way on earth that this cat survived for 6 months riding around on the bogey of a trailer or worse still somehow clinging to the underside of a truck. Too many moving parts and not much to squeeze into. This story is utter nonsense.
never heard of nine lives?
Survived by drinking Pepsi and not Coke!
