Since the beginning of the week, many southern states are facing the risk of flooding throughout the rest of the week, so if you’re a driving through, make sure to be aware of the possibility of high waters. This could lead to some delays, so plan accordingly.
A weather system from the Gulf Coast is possibly going to stay over these regions through the weekend, producing heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. Already, South Carolina saw flash flooding on Tuesday, and the National Weather Service has flood and flash flood watches in Florida. Most of eastern North Carolina is on the watch as well.
Some of these places are expected to see at least 6 inches of total rain throughout the week until Sunday. Heavy storms could hit Texas, portions of Louisiana, Alabama, and Georgia. If the rain is heavy enough, we could be seeing flash flood warnings there too.
Drivers are expected to be delayed in these areas, especially along the I-10 and I-95 corridors.
There could be a possibility of flooding in New England and even New Mexico this weekend, so if you’re near any major storms, plan for delays and stay safe.
