ZF is introducing Scalar, the first ABS-based innovative trailer telematics solution, to North America. It provides real-time fleet operations, wheel-end, and maintenance monitoring systems with just one hardware device and the Scalar user dashboard. It gives fleets connected insights from GPS position tracking to aggregate load status and tire health.

Scalar software provides an interface tailored to trailer diagnostics. Using real-time cloud connectivity, Scalar EVO Cast sends fleets info on vehicle location, status, and health, prompting action when needed. Features include GPS location, health score, events profile, and AI-based fleet orchestration.

Scalar EVO Cast is designed to interpret & communicate vehicle alerts via the cloud when critical events occur. It offers cloud connectivity (enabling GPS position tracking & important alerts of issues), vehicle uptime monitoring, and optimized maintenance cycles. Scalar was first shown in North America at the Technology & Maintenance Council annual meeting & is now available to order.

Fleet Orchestration Platform

ZF shared more about their fleet orchestration platform at the IAA truck expo in Germany. It optimizes commercial fleet operations with fully automatic and live planning, routing, scheduling, and dispatching solutions. It helps improve fleet efficiency and select fuel-efficient routes.

Two key proof-of-concepts were showcased at theirproofs-of-concepty Days, including supporting driver safety and cargo monitoring. These have the potential to provide better protection and management of trailer payloads.
