Near the end of 2005, I applied to this carrier. I was initially offered a job (that is, a trip to orientation), but that offer was later retracted. The reason given was that the motor carrier’s insurance carrier felt I didn’t have enough experience (I had 10 years by then, the last 8 with a perfect safety and on time record).
When I asked the insurance carrier about this, they claimed they had no role in the decision, and based on what I told them about my background, they wouldn’t have any objection.
It later turned out that the motor carrier actively practiced discriminatory hiring practices, basing their hiring on factors not even remotely relevant to the requirements of the job being offered.
I was offered a job the next day by another carrier, where I worked for 4.5 years accident free.
you were very lucky that challenger turned you down they did hire you because they only want new or foreign drivers that they can push and cheat. challenger should be allowed any more foreign drivers. or driver service drivers until they pay their drivers fairly and for all hours worked.
