Looking at purchasing a 2016 Cascadia for flatbed work and it has the exhaust stack running up the back of the sleeper. I'd like to remove that stack and put a downspout at the frame so I can gain a few more inches closer to the back of the cab for a headache rack. Anyone thinking of any negative side effects to this? Thanks
conventional exhaust stack

I have a grass burner on my t660 and am working towards putting twins up behind the sleeper.

Weedburner exhaust. Back in the day the great state of Pa had you run a tail pipe clear out to the end of the frame by the tractor taillights. Probably because of fumes that was mentioned. Guess the air is so fresh now out the exhaust it now good for ya.

I may have said this before in another post...here goes anyhoo. A casual friend/ trucker told me, a friend of his owned a pre emission truck, no def. The shed he parked it in always had pesty birds in it.(probably sparrows etc). Tried to rid himself of them but they were always coming back. Well he got rid of his older truck and purchased a newer truck with def. He says the birds left and never came back. I can't prove it one way or the other, he says thats what the guy told him happened. If so..very interesting. Mayby they didn't like the smell?Matt1924 Thanks this.

If it's an emissions truck then you shouldn't have issues. I drove a 386 Pete with a S60 Detroit with a weed burner, straight pipe. Not only did the smell kill you in and out of the truck but it was the loudest thing I've ever heard in my life. Couldn't wait to be out of it.
Matt1924 and stillwurkin Thank this.
