Turkey shatters semi truck windshield, lives to gobble another day![]()
This is one of the reasons I prefer a freightliner. In this case, only half of the windshield would need to be replaced.

I was on I 80 past Girard one night Going eastbound past the westbound scale house when a turkey flew up and hit my truck. Was in a International cabover and that bird hit right in the middle toward the bottom of the windshields. Took out both side of the gals, bent the center post in and dented the body panel under the windshield. I was covered with glass. At the time the International dealer had a body shop at the next exit so a few hours later I got out of there. I had to toss all of my bedding and I was still finding glass back in the sleeper a month later.
I guarantee that bird didn't live.Bud A., buddyd157, Wasted Thyme and 4 others Thank this. -

I had almost exactly the same thing happen to me a while back. Mine was an owl. It didn't make it through the windshield though, thankfully. And yes, it was a Freightliner with two windshield panes. It hit in the middle and broke both of them.

GD turkey's .I've posted this before, "Wild Turkey and Coke". This happened in the UP of Michigan, not Georgia, my friend took the original picture, the truck was a week old, the turkey ain't getting any older. I hit a turkey in my 4 wheeler, shattered the windshield. The windshield was more than I paid for the car. Watch out for turkey's, the real kind.
