Some comments lead to others and we don't really need to go to separate forums for a little conversation.
No one has gotten nasty and it is not getting out of hand.

As someone who works in the transportation industry but is not a trucker myself (I work closely with a lot of owner operators) I can tell you that there are a lot of differing opinions on what to do. From what I have seen, those who already had an active authority and were established before all this covid-19 stuff ramp'd up, they are having a lot of success and staying out on the road. For those trying to get their authorities active during all this though, it has been a little more difficult. One way or another there are definitely still a lot of loads out there and a lot of money to be made. And from someone who is not on the front lines myself, seriously, thank you to all you drivers out there for keeping our economy running and keeping shelves stocked. The people need you now more than ever. I find it funny how now all of the sudden everyone's opinion on the transportation industry and truckers is starting to change when they see how much of a need it truly is

We're running everything we have. We're on track to equal or slightly exceed last year at this time.
We don't run spot market, don't use brokers, and we're mostly local and short regional.
When the Covid19 started getting serious we told the drivers that if they chose to stay home there wouldn't be any hard feelings over their decision. Everybody decided to work.trucking.shine, dwells40 and HoneyBadger67 Thank this. -
Unfortunately changing my vote to stay at home. I don’t have any personal issue with virus concerns, but when I’m running reefer and sit for 3 days without a load only to be given a 450 miler, yeah send me home til it picks back up or I find another company that has freight to run. I’d rather be catching up on home projects than sitting in my truck for days between each load for 1000-1400 miles a week. Told dispatch to call me when they need me and didn’t get any argument.
