i am going to ORT sept. 28th and i was just wondering about a mile restriction. they say that the first year you will make 33,000 but it just looks like that you would be able to drive more miles than that. again i was wondering if there was a mile restriction, does it matter on the loads that you get or how is that figured out.

The only restriction, is one that freight puts on the company. It's slow right now.

The number of drivers must be factored in as well, as many companies try to insure a balance among drivers.

Actually, $33k is a realistic figure to start with. There is potential for more.

The money will come. Just don't be expecting it in your first year.

has this kind of thing happened to you before where the economy has dropped and you dropped in pay, but was able to come back up again

It has dropped before, wages have dropped before too.

It can take YEARS for the wages to come back.

I do not believe that will be the case this time. I'll explain why, to ease your mind.

In the past, most of the new drivers came from the manufacturing industry when the economy fell. And many of them stayed for the money.

This time, they are coming from other service sectors and white collars.

Unlike the past, these people come from better paying jobs. And they'll want to return to them asap. Driving is a means of survival for them....only. It won't be a career for most.

When it does bounce back. You'll find recruiters pimping out their wife, sister, and mother. Just to get you to attend orientation.

It hasn't been that long ago, companies were offering sign on bonuses of up to $2000.
