I have seen one of these off I-80 in Ohio, I think. Maybe Indiana?
One of the major truck stop hubs. Perryville?buddyd157 Thanks this. -
Sorry got to weigh in here if me and my rig can do it with no harm and no slowing down of other users shut up
. Again not wanting a fight I simply am sometimes delivering or picking up in areas no clue so do what is needed to get in and out safely.

Probably off topic my company cares less except safely sorry again

If it's a law, it's only illegal if you get caught. If it's a company policy, it's only a violation if you get caught. So dont get caught
SoulScream84 and Lostmykey Thank this. -
I stand by that number, though I am sure that a very aggressive driver pulling an empty trailer might do it faster. A low powered truck at 80k gross would probably take a lot longer.
Left turn duration is actually a measured stat at Stevens Transport, and they expected drivers to make a left with an empty trailer in between 15 and 20 seconds from a stop, through the turn, and up to traffic flow speed on 35MPH roads.
Even newbie drivers can manage a simple left turn with fair speed.
A U-turn is basically two left turns. Reduce speed. Turn left. Turn left again. Resume speed. That's in a perfect scenario. U-turns are rarely performed in perfect scenarios. -
Anybody who has ever exited I81 going south in Wytheville VA to get to the Pilot has made a uturn on a public street.
I'm sure even Stevens trucks go there occasionally.
Or how about that one near Toledo Ohio getting off the 280 to get to the 80? Big ### uturn because of the never ending construction. -
Does pulling a uturn in a parking lot count....?
-
Yeah, huh. I learned something today. Nothing else to my response

MI has those turns set up like that, and they are designed with trucks in mind. Yes, legal in those cases.
