Personally, I am of the opinion that the main reasons for all the "premature" wear so often seen in greasable components can be directly tied to fruits of our new extended interval oil changes. Tie that with somewhat lax motivation found in some lubes techs(always been a problem) and you have components seeing 30k unlubed....
That is why I too stick with conventional Delo 400. Cat filters- (including coolant filter every other pm) at 12k miles. My oil may be dirtier because I also run cooler than recommended regulators (thermostats) like 180* vs 192*. I work a truck hard in all extremes of weather and have had very good component life and have yet to cook an engine because it ran too cool. And yes I near always jack front up. Way I was raised. Don't mean it is right... worked for me...

I agree 100% on grease. I work mine hard and dirty. 5k miles grease, 10k oil and grease. Sometimes 5k is stretching it on u-joints and trailer cam bushings. Not looking for the argument on oil change. It's what fits my business and I do all my own work.

Page attached from Eaton E1202W steer axle manual on how to grease it. Specifically states to not jack up the axle.

So here are the documents from the Freightliner Cascadia Maintenance Manual from 2017 and the 2007 version. Both say not to raise the front axle to grease the king pins.

I think it’s possible that some king pins require to be raised when greasing, so you would want to look for the documents showing the proper greasing procedures for your king pins.

    How often do you lube?

I have been fighting shaky cab or steering not sure what it is but i’m going crazy. Around60-65-70 its here with different frequency but it shakes. New steers beidgestone ( was doing with previous set firestones too), new drums, balanced, alignment done, new drives, driveshaft looks tight, not single u joint lose. I’m suspecting maybe king pins ? truck have 1.2 milion never done king pins i will post video from both wheels and let me know if someone knows anything. Unfortunately won’t let me upload a video. Is there a way to upload video ?
