Every truck has to stop unless you get the bypass, regardless of what you are hauling.

 

Normally just get a pass with a tractor trailer freight hauler. With livestock they want to see paperwork, horses anyway. With a U Haul they may want to check for migrant workers. With a class 8 day cab out of state farm tag the world stops. The line was long before I got released and everything was in order. They held me on the scale bobtail and the line was long. CB was smoking. That is the kind of stuff that normally happens.

 

I used to drive a regular old Chevy cargo van 30 years ago.

Ag inspection is mainly to review your load and be sure that whatever fruit or veg you have can transit into or out of the state. Goal to protect growers. For example Arizona grows a small amount of citrus and they will not allow in citrus from other places without protections in place.. Ca, FL and Tx have pests that AZ doesn’t.
