Seriously man 140 a week! That's about 2 days of what drivers are SUPPOSED to be getting for Per Diem.

Somebody needs to get ahold of a stack of these low paychecks and find the right guy in the government to explain why we actually should be getting it.

Luckily for me my company's is still paying us Per Diem and isn't stealing part of our pay to do it like some companies do. I'm retired military so without the per diem my total pay would increase my overall taxes by 1000s of dollars so it helps.

No I won't be quitting over 2300 a week when I want 2500+ but getting a couple of those garbage 1500 or less mile weeks in a row without any home time at all really will piss you off when you see other drivers going home and still getting the same or better miles.

I got like 700 something miles this week.. Company sent me somewhere to do a dedicated route and this place apparently wasn't ready to take us in. So I've been sitting around in my truck most of this week and only did one delivery.

So that means I'm getting another ####ty paycheck next week.

What I'm going to do now is wait till a get my hometime (~Aug 8 - Aug 12) . As soon as I get back I'm telling them I'm done. I already got another job offer and an orientation date for 8.24.

They're literally paying me less than I've ever made at any job lately. It's not livable at all .

Put in for your hometime at the terminal, clear out the truck once you get there and then give your notice right before you leave.

This is the way to do it. Cuts down on their ability to mess with you, but still handles your end appropriately.

Yeah at the minimum you need to find a company that pays you a minimum of 1000 or 1200 a week.

Then you'll be like me, complaining about the company not getting you enough miles to get over that minimum because they are busy giving them to some other driver that spent the weekend at home.

That's ridiculous. That happened to me a few times back in 2000 working for a company where they left me stuck at a TA truck stop in Canton, OH @ $50 per day. Back then I was getting $0.34 cpm but couldn't take the reoccurring layovers. They kept saying wait a little longer for a load over the Qualcomm satellite. I finally got fedup and told them I'm bring their truck back (most drivers back then were leaving trucks at truck stops flying back home..but I never wanted a bad record so I never considered it). Long story short, I gave them their keys and quit once I got back to their yard. Ironically, a year & an half late they went under. I was avg. 2600 miles per week with 5 years experience then) $884/week. But the signs were there that it wouldn't last because they're payouts were too much such as paying an extra $0.02 cpm & $100 to cross into NYC city including $20 per extra p&d. When it got to the times they were leaving me hanging around Truck stop for long layovers I saw it coming & left before they closed their doors. Gotta look for the red flags with company dispatchers being apprehensive, overly aggressive, belligerent & facetious over time whiles Owners and upper Management disagrees alot in offices. These signs are telling you where a company is heading.!!

You were making more CPM and more miles in 2000 than I am in 2020.. let that sink in!

The dispatchers with this company aren't terrible but something I noticed is my driver manager got changed 4 different times in 2 months. Also thought it was odd that they kept me sitting for days on end to do dedicated and then took me off , I never requested any of that. Something is going on at the corporate level im guessing and I'm not sure what it is . Im not sticking around to find out !
