Can you drive your truck home? You’re sitting anyway. It seems unfathomable to me that they would make you sit somewhere for weeks on end and you have to sit there and take it. I guarantee you I would’ve walked away so would most guys. And if I couldn’t afford it I would drive the truck home and tell them to come pick it up.

I got my first load this week finally going from Massachusetts to Philadelphia . It's only 300 something miles but at least its different from the past 2 weeks where I was sitting the first few days of the week.

I've actually got 2 different offers one from Prime INC to run reefer and one from Melton truck lines to run Flatbed. I'm going to end up going to one or the other after I turn my notice in in a couple weeks.

Im looking at Melton as well As I’m interested in flatbeds but I want to make sure in the coming economic calamity’s that they will always be enough freight so that may impact my choice. Also I have zero desire to run in the Northeast Atlanta or Chicago cities. I’m relocating out to northern Idaho so I’d prefer to run either regionally of the western 11. The great thing about trucking is there are so many choices you’re bound to find the right fit if you look hard enough.

I might not even get a paycheck this week seeing I only ran one load that ended on Friday last week. Depends on when they end their pay period I submitted all the paperwork Friday evening right after the load was delivered.

Even then by my calculations it'll only be 100 something dollars again .

I need to go food shopping so bad but can't really with those paychecks. If I get nothing this week I'm eating beans and vegetables until the following week ...

With those choices Melton is a no brainer. I would never work for a company like Prime that does everything's possible to maximize their income while minimizing yours. You live in NC, I have no idea why you don't try to do glass with Maverick or Wylie considering it's right there with 3 plants within 200 miles of your house

Man I'm really torn between reefer and flatbed. I haven't decided yet.

Glass? Are these local or Reigonal jobs? I'll be at 3 months experience by the time I get back home next month these jobs typically don't accept less than 6 months exp

Maverick looks like they will put "students" and less than 6 months experience in the glass fleet. May have to do a couple of weeks with a trainer. But looks like the minimum pay is better than your best checks?

    Student Program | Maverick

As far as Wylie goes. they are part of Daseke company. Poke around on the parent site. they may have a group that does not require 6 months out your way.
