I am looking at Landstar first, then Schneider. Not until after the current note is paid off.

After that I will likely run a couple months with the current truck before trading it in for a new or low mileage truck.

I think I missed something in this thread. Why did you decide to get rid of the truck with a rebuilt engine?

Constant repairs. It is becoming more and more clear that modern trucks become rolling pieces of garbage shortly after the 500k mile factory warranty runs out.

There's a good chance the wear on the tires is causing the wobble. But hey, I don't want you to feel alone so I took my truck to the shop to have 2 wheel seals and the brake shoes replaced and to have an air bag replaced. $900 later and she's good as new.

Why are you waiting until it’s paid off, again? Or Crete won’t let you take it some place else? How much do you still owe on it?

Happy for you to see your opinion change on new trucks and how used ones are an endless money pit.

They are less than a year old by a fair margin. 100k or fewer miles. I'd have to dig in records in storage to get a more accurate number.

I am attempting to keep the complexity of my situation at a minimum. I owe about 27k principle on the truck right now.

With Crete, on the account I am on, the delivery windows are sometimes measured in weeks, rather than days or hours. I still run hard, but if I do need to stop and get work done, or whatever, it doesn't matter.

I could take the truck elsewhere and leave Crete, but they would likely get a lot more irritated with me if I miss weekly payments, unlike now, where they DGAF as long as I make up the missed payments with miles run after the truck is back on the road.

Yesterday, I had the passenger side steer removed, demounted, and the wheel checked for balance. Tested good. With the tire on the rim, it was 6 oz. Off.

So, today I get a new pair of steers. Getting Yoko 16 ply steers.

I really hope this resolves the front end wobble. A steer 6 oz. out of balance certainly could account for all of it. I hope it does.
