Nope they said if you want to be home every weekend you'll for sure get 2300 to 2600 and if you stay out in the 3000. I've been here 9 months when I first started I was averaging 2300 miles a week I figured I was new had a 2 month stretch of averaging 2800 past 2 months been brutal averaging 1800 to 2100 miles and this hole time I've been staying out 2 weeks at a time what ticked me off i bumped into guys from my orientation class that they've been averaging 3200+ miles a week not me and I've told them few times I need more miles nothing changes for example I deliver tomorrow 5am next load pickups on Sunday delivers Tuesday for 700 miles they do that a lot waste 4 days on miles like that 2100 miles a week ain't cutting it at 1.63 miles my checks are only 2300 average I can make that easily in flatbed and more and be home every weekendJonJon78 Thanks this.

I've talked to many Mercer drivers that are happy overall. You may want to also consider Landstar or Admiral Merchants for heavy haul / RGN work.
nunofreddy Thanks this. -
Ive heard more bad things about landstar than mercer but overall good things about both im a flatbedder I think mercer probably better place for me since that's their main work
-
Does mercer have a lot of freight going in and out of texas?

Ask for a new dispatcher or om or dm whatever they call it.....

These guys just make you lose to much time sometimes a load takes you 2 to 3 days to deliver which its ridiculous -
I have been with Mercer for 4 years now and am very content. This month has been my best in two years, but I have always been able to cover my expenses and have some left over at the end of the month. The insurance rates are very good, fuel discounts are amazing and there is no repercussions for rejecting a load as the load. They leave you alone to do what you do and don't bother you at home until you say you are ready for a load.
ITheDudeAbides, CJndaTruck, Speed_Drums and 3 others Thank this. -
I can sit at home and be poor by driving 0 miles a week, no reason to run a truck for cost.
looked into Mercer but I kept hearing they were dead, and I wasn’t putting a tattle box in my truck, I’ve heard good things about them though and that you will always get your money
