I confess, I kinda laughed when I read the part about it speeding up when the cop activated his lights... a computer after my own heart.

Speed limit there is 110 km/h, but if you're not doing at least 130 you better be in the slow lane or you'll get run over. I do think the driver is a moron (20-year-old from BC in $100-$140k car? Drugs or spoiled child, hmm...) and my understanding of how the Tesla autopilot works, I believe they were goofing off. Given that, it's at times like this where I wish we had a motor vehicle fines system like they have in Finland (based on income) or something else more substantial than what we have available (spoiled/drug dealer kids, mostly within the Asian community, in very expensive cars causing mayhem and fatalities in the Lower Mainland (Vancouver) area is a big problem).

Given the highly likely ethnic origin of the perpetrator, this would be extremely poetic.
