Not your problem.
Drop the freight and run, especially if you talked to the guy.13 Speed Road Ranger, road_runner, Texas_hwy_287 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I’ve seen quite a few that I wouldn’t do because they’re simply impossible to access safely with a 48’ trailer.Gearjammin' Penguin Thanks this.

FedEx Freight is real big on residentials. Last year they started hyping up a new full service indoor delivery service that was meant to partner with major retailers and take work from the small local guys that normally do those jobs. Haven’t heard much about it recently but I’m sure it’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

Indoor delivery sounds awful.Texas_hwy_287 and MACK E-6 Thank this.

I read on a certain "other" site I don't particularly like very much that ABF was doing that crap with treadmills. Not only did they have to hump the stupid thing into the house, but apparently they also had to set it up in whatever room they wanted, even if it's an upstairs room.
To Hell with all that.

Yeah the way the FedEx service was described to me, it sounds like when I got my washer and dryer from Best Buy. Two guys showed up in a Penske straight truck, brought the washer and dryer into my house, hooked them up and took away the trash.

heres what my TM said " Lift gate delivery " rolling it off the gate and leave it curb side ,Inside delivery just beyond on drive way gate and drop it there , always have them sign for the shipment before you off load cause have the time they wont help you reload it ......and if they start giving lip leave. i do it all the time. you got flat rate freight not WHITE GLOVE SERVICE call the person you bought it from to schdule another option.

So, does FXF stand for "FedEx Flooring" or "FedEx Furniture?" I wonder some days.McUzi, jmz and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this.

I ran Reddaway for 6 years and 15% of our drops were residentials. I now work for the sister company USF Holland and we do closer to 2% residentials.
If a load planner screws you and puts you in a 53 ft liftgate inside a tight area, then that's one thing. For the most part they make things work just for getting the freight off.
Actually dealing with residentials, they work out way better than some commercials. This isn't stock or inventory. This is crap they ordered on the interweb and they will jump through all kinds of hoops to get it off your trailer.
I've only had one really bad residential and the rest were cake with some offering me tips for the frosting.McUzi, HiramKingWilliams, Farva and 1 other person Thank this.
