Ever driven around Chicago?

 

I won't bad mouth a white Volvo, but allow me to rant about FedEx for a second.

They used to fly across 78 every night, and never caused me any issues. Then something changed and now they're doing 65. Everywhere, all the time. Construction zones, snow storms, fog. You name it.

Today I was coming out of Allentown heading to Harrisburg, in the construction zone. Speed limit is 50 through there, though nobody does it. It's rough, and kinda tight at places over the course of 9 miles of roadwork. Well,here comes the FedEx I passed before the construction zone. Probably doing 65, with doubles, through the work zone. Didn't bother me much.

What irked me was once we got through the work zone, FedEx catches up to another FedEx, and now they're drag racing across 78. Neither would budge. For 10 miles.....

Not just a white volvo, a white volvo with steel wheels all the way around. They're generally missing fairings and pieces of the bumper. The reason white volvos catch so much grief is because they're cheap and bought by companies that don't care about their trucks and just throw drivers in them who can't drive.

 

It’s kind of like Swift. Sure you see good drivers in white Volvo’s just like you see good drivers in Swift trucks. It’s just that there seems to be more of the new drivers who are a bit more dangerous to be around in those type of trucks. I nearly got ran out in the ditch by a white Volvo recently so I may be a bit biased though.

That doesn’t mean you have to be that way if you drive a white Volvo. Nobody forces you to drive in an unprofessional manner. There are also unprofessional drivers in Petes or KW or any other kind of truck. Maybe just not quite as many though.

 

Couldn't agree more. It's just a joke amongst drivers more or less

 

It's a mentality more than a skill issue. With patience and practice anyone can be a professional. Even a knot head like me.
