The old days. Going thru Louisville around KY Derby Days. 6 of us going north with stock cattle. Clocking off the lights click, click, click. Pretty ladies with the big hats in the sharp
convertibles of the young dudes...Alongside, Oh, there's cows... Missed a light, convoy eases
to a halt. Cattle shift their footing and urinate-defecate. Hats get splattered, lights ignored. -
They run under different constraints, responsibilities, and worries. When I see one in my mirror, I get out of the way. Kind of like an ambulance.

Movement with the vents open on the old trailers . Heat affects hogs worse. Coming out of
E. St. Louis (National City ) stockyards we would load by 4pm, run down #3 to Cairo and. wet
them down a little with a water hose while fueling. Then it was KY or MO bridge, depending
on KY weighing, running thru the night. Moo cows and sooie pigs walk on and off. Stockyards
has an open gate 24 hour a day. Not much sitting...
