Judging by the distracted nature of some Tesla owners . I’m starting to think even with the mess ups they save lives or at least prolong them lol

The term ambulance chaser takes on a whole new meaning when it's a Tesla crash...the other 2 crashes, the cars kept going after they hit the trucks, killing their occupants.

This is why people are pushing for mandatory trailer skirts.NavigatorWife Thanks this.

Skirts do nothing to help prevent death from going under a semi. It's just for aerodynamics. That said, there is a push for undercarriage crash mitigation systems.Bud A. and NavigatorWife Thank this.

I say, instead of pushing the cost of that crap onto trucking companies...how about Tesla just turns off the lazy-driver aids.
Bud A., NavigatorWife, Flat Earth Trucker and 6 others Thank this. -
Sad thing is, all they have to do is be responsible enough to rename it. Autopilot, even though it's not technically true, has connotations of not having to touch anything and let the car pilot itself. If they would be like every other company and simply call it driver assist, or advance cruse control or similar then there wouldn't be as many people trusting the system that isn't doing what they think it's doing.TokyoJoe, Bud A., NavigatorWife and 3 others Thank this.

Or better yet, retrain some of these people so they actually pay attention to the road.Bud A., NavigatorWife, Flat Earth Trucker and 2 others Thank this.

I really think that the problem here is that the car just sees daylight under the trailer and thinks it has a clear path. If the trailer had skirts, the car would pick those up on the radar.
Bottom line here is that it’s a case of the driver relying on the car too much. The driver needs to be paying attention.NavigatorWife, mjd4277 and ZVar Thank this. -
to accommodate tesla?Bud A. and lovesthedrive Thank this.
