Glad I missed this wreck.
lovesthedrive Thanks this. -
I was heading N on 25 not too long after this happened. Thankfully I delivered about 5-6 miles before they were having everyone get off, what a mess it was

I don’t even want to think about the fines for a spill like that. 5 gallons of diesel is bad enough but 11,000??? That’s basically a tanker yanker equivalent to the Exxon Valdez!!
Hope none of you were planning on fishing there, unless you like your trout to have a taste with a hint of Sinclair or ConocoPhillips!

I left Cheyenne with a load to Albuquerque Saturday afternoon. Took US 85 to avoid this, but then a couple miles from E-470, 85 was closed both directions! So I had a nice ride down some of the county roads, including a right turn at a 4-way stop from one narrow two lane blacktop to another, with traffic in every direction at the intersection backed up for a half mile. Right rear tandems barely cleared the ditch, but I used to be a flatbedder so that didn't really bother me lol. I think I scared some of the 4-wheelers when I swung way out and kept plowing forward even though they didn't want to wait for me. I'm sure they're over it by now.
I was a little surprised when I got the message from dispatch Sunday afternoon that I-25 was open again. I had figured it would be already. Got to drive through a little snow storm from Monument to Castle Rock on the way back.
Between the blizzard and stuff like this, the last two weeks have been a little too much, frankly. I've got a day off at home today. I might drink a beer.
