Yes we just got off the phone. Think we are both sick of it bs talk. Hey, make it or break it here. He seems to be doing better than me ( hard to believe) but we both see a pattern.
None want to listen or ask. Everyone said make a change. Yet all know best, how's that working -
Please ask but be willing to listen

I just asked a simple question. Thats it
-
That was not at you, sorry. Just general frustration.

I know you have several replies in this
But can you post a picture of what you have on a conestoga as far as bulkhead requirements Mercer wants? -
People did ask. All they ever heard was that there is some secret formula to get in good with agents, so you can get the secret loads that noone else sees. When BS is called, like $10/mi loads out of S. FL we kept hearing about, the response is essentially that you're too stupid to figure out the big secret to getting the big Mercer loads.
Sorry, but people don't sign on here to have to figure out some mystical secret to getting good freight. -
It's not a secret. You pick up the phone, call an agent and tell them when where and what you can do and how much you need to do it. You also have to build relationships with good paying customers to the point that they want you and only you to handle their high dollar products.
It's simple communication. And that keeps me booked for the next 2 weeks. It's selling yourself to everyone. And all that has been said here by many of us time and time again.
The only secret here is picking up the phone and calling people. And those $10/mi loads in FL do exist. Heck, I just did a $7k load 2 weeks ago on 490 mi. And I think I got that off the board. The S. FL agent called me a few weeks ago offering to pay (very well) me to come down and work dedicated for a few weeks. Unfortunately I already have commitments.
Sometimes it's right place right time. Sometimes it's just pure luck. Often it's work on your part to separate yourself from everyone else. There is your secret. -
