I do as well, but I also won't let another steal or do harm to me, a friend or a member of my family without defending myself. In reality you won't make it to court alive if you don't defend yourself. With what is going on with society right now let me know how saying I'll sue you works out for you.
The point is quit trying to defend criminals and maggots of society.
Which armpit city do you live in or close to in WI?jason6541 and Dale thompson Thank this. -
Unprovoked violence seems to be going up.
If the choice is to shoot someone or let them steal from me, I'd probably let them have what they want.
The problem is nowadays criminals seem to want to hurt people just for the fun of it.
I'd rather go to court for defending myself than go to the hospital or morgue.kemosabi49 Thanks this. -
I vote that truckers should be allowed to defend themselves.
I haven't read all the comments yet, but here are some points to consider.
- in a truck, you are 6-10 feet from your neighbor when parked in most lots, separated by thin panels. If you are to fire a handgun, you stand a chance, even with hollow points and hitting center mass of your assailant of going through those walls and striking a neighbor...
-Handguns are better as distance weapons as you would have in a house or out and about, not in close quarters. Once someone gets in your truck, well...
-I personally think a short shotgun (a .410 is my favorite, small, low kick, enough stopping force at close quarters, but won't travel (much, if any) past the walls of your truck. They do sell .410s as a revolver style as well for those that want more than a single shot.
- I would be happy, and I think most truckers would be happy to apply for a special weapon license especially for truckers that would grant us permission to legally carry weapons throughout all states, even if there are some that we aren't legally allowed to use them in (though hopefully, we'd be covered for that also). This way, at least we wouldn't get into trouble for just having them in the vehicle. -

You can own guns in Illinois, also concealed carry. Most people I know own several. Based on the number of shootings in The City on weekends I would say the natives are very well armed

Hmm never asked for permission, I have carried in a cmv for over 30 years. I use common sense and don’t advertise. I have only pulled it once. A young lady was being beaten by her pimp or boyfriend not sure and he didn’t want to stop. So he got the point quickly. That was around 1994 or so. Young lady got help and he went to jail.

I have a few knives and a Henry Big Boy .44.
The knives are with me always and the Henry is at home.
I guess I have never felt the need or desire for a gun out here.
But I get it.
There are a lot of really scared people out there.
And a few dangerous ones as well. -
If I feel like I was in danger. The only way is to defend yourself rather than getting your killed. So, take some class for self defense and you’ll actually do physical movement to get the fell of it. Trust me, it wasn’t easy as it is when we see it.
I am certified to conceal a weapon without getting arrested or charged if pull over by the police or DOT.
