Trucking Urban Legends

I've seen it. It looks like a dog running across the street. It's just your brain starting to fall asleep. Parts of your brain will fall asleep while you are still technically awake.

 

The popular legends I know of are..

The Black Dog
The Disappearing Hitchhiker
The Knife Murder in the back of some lady's car
There's one more, I can't remember

I've heard a story about a grey alien out in the deserts outside of Las Vegas on the way to LA more than once. But, you know how alien stuff goes. lol

 

I was hauling sand out in Texas. I coming down a lease road there was an abandoned farm house out there. As I drove down the lease road the house lights were on. I was looking at the house probably a couple miles using it as a marker it was in the direction of the well.

After getting probably quarter miles away I couldnt see the house lights anymore. As I approached the house the structure was collapsed on itself and a tree had grown through the collapsed roof.

I got about 1/4 a mile away I looked in the mirror I could see the house lights back on.

 

When I was a kid that was my favorite movie, still watch it every now and then lol I always pointed out that exact scene and my dad told me that since it was an old railcar trailer with Dayton wheels it probably only had service brakes. Either way, it's Hollywood filming haha

The dubbed engine noise, smoke effects and air hissing shifter always puzzled me too. I remember when he was pulling that hill and the truck started pouring white smoke I was like WTF lol

 

I jammed the brakes on going south on US 220 because a garbage truck backed out of a driveway in front of me. As soon as the truck jerked from hitting the brakes, it was gone. I stopped at the Loves where it meets I68 and took a 2 hour nap lol sleepiness is no joke on the road, I've seen many crazy non existent things.

 

I've, at Night when O.T.R., seen quite many solo individuals walking in the breakdown lanes WITH traffic and usually wearing non reflective dark colored clothing. Since I usually stayed close to the Line(s) I'm sure they all received sudden blasts of Air Pressure from the skirted Dry Van.
"Maybe" some of the sightings were anomalies or "appearing as Human". "Maybe Dimensional Flux" or
(E. D. I.) Excessive Driving Intoxication coupled with (F. M. D.) Fried Mind Distortion.
Between 00:01 and 06:00 were the "Adventurous Times" when appearances may or not have actually occurred.

I recall Not Seeing Any Dog or similar 4 (or more) legged creature, but at 65+, sudden deceleration wasn't in the works.

I was hitchhiking one rainy night, and a trucker picked me up. I think his name was big Joe, and he bought me a cup of coffee. That's all I remember
