Technically if you read the rules on PC it's a round trip evolution . You can't advance your position using PC. So you would either have to drive the oppisite direction from your next dispatch or drive back to where you started your PC. It's supposed to be used AFTER your already parked up not to stretch your clock.
But dispatchers will try anything to make their job easier if you let them. If something happens while your illegally using PC they'll throw you right under the bus

Btw, I recently took up bass fishing. I got myself a boat, tackle, etc... I caught myself a large mouth second time out. Good looking fish! Of course, not being a Kentuckian, I released the unfortunate soul back into the lake.

No, the FMCSA modified the rule so that drivers who get trapped by a customer that holds them for an unexpectedly long time can then use PC to get to a parking space. We all said at the time it'll be used by dispatchers as a planning option. That is not legal. The rule clearly applies to unexpected delays only.drvrtech77, Trucker61016, FearTheCorn and 3 others Thank this.

I’ll take a pass.

So I gave Rick a call, he says he thinks he remembers you. " Yes, I think if I remember correctly he was rather pale with a black cape, really liked running nights." He says you're welcome back anytime and made a mistake letting you slip between his fingers.

Oh, I know they'd have me back. They let me know for like 5 #### years after I quit! lolmjd4277, Trucker61016 and TB John Thank this.

Once you start your 14 hour clock in the morning don't go off duty or sleeper. Then you get to stop working at 14 hour limit. You could remind them sending driver to customer when low on hours or they know driver will run out of hours at customer is illegal. PC place to park is really only for unexpected delay at customer. Sending driver to load or unload with say only 2 hours left on 14 clock can easily see driver will run out of hours at customer. That technically makes it illegal. Maybe call safety and see if they understand the difference. Once starting log book for the day don't stop it for loading or unloading or waiting for next dispatch.
Dispatch probably won't care at first but at end of the week when that 70 hour limit hit. They will care when they can't dispatch the truck and loads are late or missed.Trucker61016 Thanks this. -
What does that do other than abuse your 70? They are already illegally using PC, so it's not like they would stop that.Frank Speak Thanks this.

Your 70 hour clock is your legal permission to earn a living. If you waste it by letting your clock run when you're not working then you'll just make less money. That's going to hurt you worse then it will hurt your employer.
And they can always just replace you.nredfor88, drvrtech77, 48Packard and 3 others Thank this.
