Check out ABCO in Ocala I think it is? Had a friend work there and still sings their praises after they parted ways for him to go get his own truck.

As far as why I've stayed here this long...bottom line is pay and inexpensive but decent health insurance. I mean, next week is only the 2nd check of August and I will be just under $60k, at that pace upper $80's to low $90's is a distinct possibility which isn't bad for my 1st year back. The only place I can find similar pay and insurance at is on an ad for a Walmart D/C in Ga or some 1099 companies with an IL address (and I don't speak Russian). I know, for the sake of my sanity, I am gonna have to bite the bullet and take a small pay cut and move on but it's tough to walk away from the kind of money they offer here.Skootlez, Jarhed1964, Lonesome and 3 others Thank this. -
Been at Creffer for about 10 years...since I came back from Iraq...its not 100% perfect here..but no company is...can put up with any day to day foolishness....by not paying attention to it ...the insurance is good ...so far its paid over $500,000 for wife's needs.....pay will be around $90,000 gross this year....and Creffer has put over $25,000 in my profit sharing....baring some drastic change...will stay here until retirement...I'd rather deal with what I know...than switch jobs...and maybe get a new set of problems...that could be much worse than Creffer has

The new system update must now put the little red triangle on the status line of all screens instead of just on the log screen. Made my drop this morning before the deadline, pulled out into the customer's staging area and took a nap to let the truckstops thin out a bit so finding a 34hr campground is easier. Woke up to leave and all the triangles are gone.
On a side note, I dropped at Ben E. Keith in Selma, TX. We are allowed to drop anytime within the drop window, much like Walmart. Not early, not late. I got there at 3 am, with a 4 am deadline. Checked in, dropped, hooked to an empty and returned to the guardshack to check out. While chatting with the gueard, appearantly, another driver got pissed because the guard wasn't allowed to start checking in live unloads until some time later, and this other driver saw me check in, and then pull in(not knowing about our drop privileges). So, working here does have some benefits.Jarhed1964, Lonesome, newbietrucker91 and 5 others Thank this. -
You’re better off just staying put Snackbar. Like Iraqralph says. Ignore the bs and keep making bank. I doubt you will make anymore other than a private fleet. They probably won’t have the otr scheduling that you like though.
Farmerbob1 and dwells40 Thank this. -

To show you how things are. I emptied before 4 am, they offered the same 3 stopper I said no to yesterday because I am running so pissed off all the time that I need to decompress and not truck for a day or two.(mainly because Lincoln can't get their #### together). They took it off of me. I took a nap in the customers staging area until truckstops cleared out some so I can find a decent spot. I hit the truckstop, park, kill off some off duty log time, then hit the sleeper. At 930, I get a message from a planner asking if I could please at least pick up the load and get it moving or t-call in Wilmer...they waited almost 3 hours before asking. By this time I had 4.5 on my 14, and had an hour and a half drive to get to a brewery in the middle of nowhere to pick this load up. I told them I doubt I could because they waited until I was getting too close to my 14 before asking, but offered to pick it up tomorrow if they're open and t-call it in Wilmer, then do my 34 up there...and I haven't heard any kind of reply, not ok, no way, nevermind...nothing. Crickets would be a symphony right now.

Last company you worked for yesterday.
The glass hauling company.
He parked right next to me. He Had a couple of
Huge pieces of glass standing up on that trailer.
I thought of you as soon as I seen him.
Said he been there like 26 years.
I couldn't believe it.
Older white guy, we talked for awhile.
Never did get his name.
