The one in Canaan I stopped going there when they started charging 30$ or so just to park. And the attitudes in there sucked. Great deli but miserable people.
bzinger Thanks this. -
Most of the Onvo travel plazas (with the exception of the two older ones in Canaan and Fultonville, New York)
offer only Burger King or IHOP. But you can't beat the deli in Canaan. Best baked potato soup and
pastrami sandwiches I've ever had.navypoppop, Brettj3876 and bzinger Thank this. -
Fultonville and canaan are supposed to be going through a Reno at some point so I’m sure they will be the same

Good old Smokey’s… That’s the one near where I live. A family friend got offered a contract for construction on the loves and knew the people who owned the old Smokey’s. It was a great stop until they launched a lawsuit against pilot to keep them from building their store across the street, lost a boatload of money in that suit and struggled ever since. I watched the place deteriorate badly over the years since then, but the restaurant still served great homemade food(the “super roast beef sandwich” was my favorite meal from there as well as the Friday fish fry). By the time it closed down it was in really bad shape. 7-11 bought them bought couldn’t save it, so they gave up and eventually sold it to Wendy’s. Not a bad place but it’s started to get trashed by the “flip flop” crowd.
